This undisclosed employer, located in the heart of Montreal, is a subsidiary of one of the leading North American local search companies. We are a fast-paced, entrepreneurial internet company where ideas and execution drive everything we do. We are aggressively expanding using cutting edge marketing and technology to connect even more consumers with great local businesses and we are looking for a back-end developer to join our innovation team in Montreal.

The ideal candidate adores solving big back-end problems. He (or she) loves playing with big data including search, load, transform and data extraction. He (or she) should also be extremely comfortable around APIs, knowing how to expose data and deal with external API limitations. He (or she) has testing in his/her blood and knows his/her way around servers.

If you’re interested designing, developing and deploying products in local search, local commerce, local advertising, lead generation, APIs, scheduling, mobile, SoLoMo, collaborative consumption, payments, geodomains and similar concepts, this opportunity is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new internal APIs to help the creation of new products.
  • Integrate third parties APIs.
  • Develop and plan new multilingual applications using our own API.
  • Configure and deploy servers using provisioning tools.
  • Build a data management system that can handle data from international sources.
  • Develop our ETL chain
