Position Summary:

This is a full life cycle Business Analyst role. The incumbent will provide business information to support business integration/conversion needs. This includes interfacing with the business to drive out the requirements gathering process, developing flow models and conceptual data models, preparation of business requirement documentation and mock screen shots. The incumbent will also develop test cases, test scripts, executes the test plans and provide testing status reports.

Responsibilities:

Provide business information: elicit business requirements, develop process flow models, develop conceptual data models, prepare business requirement documentation, prepare mock screen designs, document and map other processes as required.

Implement systems: assist in developing plans according to specifications, map out test plans and provide testing status reports and execute test plans.

Ensures the accuracy of data and operations to comply with the current legislation, as well as with policies and procedures.

Reviews, analyses and evaluates business systems and user needs.

Responsible for creating accurate and concise Functional Requirement Documents to support system design.

Maintains ongoing relations with various stakeholders to better meet the unit's objectives.

Keeps up-to-date on the current legislation, as well as on policies, programs, and procedures and keeps a close watch on market trends.

Carries out any other similar or general task at the request of his superior or that may be required by her/his function.

Qualifications:

University Degree in Computer Science and 4 to 6 years of full life cycle business analysis experience, preferably within the financial services industry.

or

College Diploma in Computer Science and 7 to 10 years of full life cycle business analysis experience, preferably within the financial services industry.

PMP designation would be an asset.

Experience eliciting and validating business requirements, preparing the business requirements documentation, translating business requirements into functional requirements, and testing.

Experience creating Use Cases, and facilitating JAD sessions.

Business process re-engineering experience.

Analytical with exceptional ability to reconstruct problems and recommend timely solutions.

Well-versed with Microsoft Office applications, Visio and other related business analysis tools.

Software (preferably Internet or Enterprise Software) Business Systems Analysis, Inbound Project Management and/or release planning.

Experience in web technology.

Familiarity with relational databases and client-server systems.

Ability to work well independently.

Excellent time-management, interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Ability to make quick, well-informed decisions to avoid project delays.

Ability to multitask, and meet deadlines, sense of urgency for completion of critical tasks.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingualism (English/French) communication skills would be an asset.
