Senior.Net C# Developer

The Technology division centred in Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a Senior Java Developer who, reporting to the Development Manager, will be responsible and accountable for analysing business and architect solutions for the requirements, as well as maintaining and enhancing current applications. Qualifications and experience

• BSc. Comp Science or Engineering preferred • Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles • Exposure to service oriented architectures • 3-5 years experience with Java (1.5 preferred) • Solid understanding of JDBC and Hibernate • Solid understanding of JSPs and taglibs; understanding of Javascript, CSS and HTML • Solid understanding of Web Services, exposure to Axis • 3-5 years experience in SQL database development (Oracle experience preferred) • > 1 year Experience with JUnit or similar • > 1 year Experience with Tomcat • Exposure to TDD and agile (SCRUM) development methodologies • Exposure to Spring a plus • Domain knowledge a plus
Duties & Responsibilities • Deliver technical specifications based on agreed User requirements • Implement software systems according to the accepted technical specifications • Project manage new requirements and enhancements • Mentor other developers in new Technologies and company development standards and practices • Implement company development standards and practices • Code reviews on an ongoing basis
